Drawing Daily: Day 1 & 2

So I actually started drawing daily yesterday. Go me! And as part of my second phase goal (posting about it) I dug out my scanner, installed the drivers, and fired it up.

I drew both of these with a pen + tria markers + pens from JetPens.com (love them!). I really want to get more of the tria markers, but they are pricey so I’ll wait on it.

My scanner is as old as, well, the first computer I ever purchased. I actually bought it the same week I bought my first computer (c. 2002). It still works. And surprisingly, it scans at a resolution of 600.  It works like a charm on the pc desktop. I was thinking about saving up to get a new scanner, but I think this one will work just fine for now.

I found a little sketchbook I made awhile ago, it has exactly 14 pages in it of drawing paper. It’s 4 1/2 x 5″ which seems like a pretty good size for a daily drawing. No pressure, just making it a habit. From now on I won’t be adding much text to each Daily Drawing post. Maybe just the materials used to make the drawing. I’ll just write notes on the drawing itself, scan it, and post it.
