I wished Kro Studio to be my online home for a long time, but felt I didn’t have the skills to make it. You see I wanted Krostudio.com to be my “homepage” and then krostudio.com/blog to be my studio blog home. A place where I can share with you what is rolling around in my head, what I’m reading, what’s in my sketch book, and more of the “in process” projects or side jobs. Kind of a space for me to write and play and share things that are not always about leftover crafts (which I love, but there is more to my life than just that). But that was professional, interesting, and an interesting glimpse into the full creative process.

After spending the weekend working on the Craft Leftovers site it hit me with a flash. I could use the same template for both. I had all the kinks worked out and it would be a snap to install on the kro studio site. Then I could have that coveted homepage where my main projects would be featured and keep my blog and class listing in the same place! Perfect. And it would also create a little unity between the two sites and visually show they are related – cousins in style.Hello Cousin! Hello to you too!

I’m happy to announce the new launching of KroStudio.com!

+ On the homepage you will find features on my main projects – Craft Leftovers, Craft Leftovers Monthly, and Ames C.art.

+ There are now side buttons to my shops and projects on all the pages (expect the homepage).

+ The classes are now listed by location and soon I will add profiles for each of the places I teach and info on private classes and workshops I offer.

+ There is a really nice contact form -oooooo…..

+ And soon I will have my CV posted as well as profiles for each of my main projects posted under “about” and then I will also be updating the general about page too.

+ Please re-link your rss feed to http://krostudio.com and delete the old listing for krostudio.com/blog – it will no longer work.

Fancy pants things for sure!

I am going to get back to work on the Craft Leftovers site and then I might come back for a post about some of those writing books I found at the Library on Sunday. Some were “meh” but I found a few really interesting ones.

I founded ames c.art in late July of 2009. I wanted to grow and expand the scope of the Sewing Rebellion so it would fit our community of creators more thoroughly.

Ames C.art is: The facilitation of collaboration between all media and art in order to infuse the community with creativity through public projects – be they workshops, lectures, or on the street art. Ames Collaborative Art. Encouraging the growth, sharing, collaboration of ames area artists and creative do gooders.

The whole thing is ambulatory – on the move – collaborating with various businesses, organizations and artists in order to host a variety of events that encourage creativity, growth, and participation of the community in the arts.

So far we have hosted a book binding workshops, mending workshops, hula hoop workshops, an on going community art discussion group, and an on going drawing group (G.O.Y.A.). This fall we are continuing to Swap n’ Sew, Draw, Discuss, Mend, Bind, and Make.

Always your participation and support is encouraged. There are many ways to be involved with the ames c.art: coming to events, donating your organizations space for event hosting, teaching a workshop, setting up and hosting an event, writing a review for the website, helping to keep the community event calender up to date by sending me information about your or your organization’s events. Any idea you have, just email me and we can work together to make it happen. And that is what it’s all about: the ames c.art is Ames Collaborative Art.

I look forward to working with you!
